Warming up the blog in the batter's box of blogger!

For this, our first post, I've decided to drop a few LaRoches your direction.
You can then choose your FAVORITE LAROCHE - cuz we have ours!
Although this baseball diary of our beloved Pirates is entitled "My Favoriate LaRoche", it will not solely pertain to the Brothers LaRoche. It will feature fun facts, antics we see and hear about in reference to our Buccos, and of course our bias commentary of all things baseball esp. the Pittsburgh Pirates! May you enjoy reading this as much as we will enjoy providing it!

But before your eyes get glossed over by the La Love that is the LaRoche brothers,
let me share a bit about them.

First we have Adam, he has been the Pirate's 1st basemen for 3 yrs. now. He came over in a trade w/ those same Braves that came a knockn' a few days ago for little Nate McClouth. He's traditionally been known as a slowww starter but after the page is turned on game 81 (half of the season), he smashes the ball like that 80's comedian who used to smash watermelons!

A Few key thoughts on Adam: 1. He's a redneck and proud of it! Instead of a bat, He would rather use his rifle and bows to get runs across! 2. Speaking of his guns. . .well. . . the elder LaRoche is. . . packn' more than heat in his hustler - as evidenced by the soon to be uploaded pics will show! 3. Although at times, his long stride at the plate causes frustrating strikeouts, those same long strided legs can dig anything out of the dirt for the sure out at first. He's a defensive dream machine!

LADIES AN
D GENTLMEN: ADAM LAROCHE!

And holding down the "HOT" corner, other wise known as 3rd base, is the youngest brother: Andy LaRoche! He found his way to our fair field via the now infamous Manny trade. He was a Dodger's cast off who had great success in AAA but was plagued with a few minor injuries that prevented him from show-casing his "stuff" in La - and boy, are we glad for that! But more lil' Andy was not welcomed w/ open arms from "burgh" fandom. He struggled greatly at the end of last season and the his first 18 or so at bats this season. And the 3 errors in game #2 didn't help the public out-cry for his head. But after working w/ the infield instructor, Perry Hill (we call him the general and you will see in the future why) he's come back w/ a ven
gence both in defense and w/ his bat! He's leading the N.L. in line drives and he's a defensive genius at 3rd. Not too much gets past him any more. "My Favorite LaRoche" girls sit on 3rd base side and well. . .
the view is spectacular - of city that is (wink, wink)!

Now with out further ado, here's Andy!
